The story is well written & i felt myself completely drawn in & invested in the game as i delved deeper into exploring Talos 1, those of a nervous disposition be aware there are several jump scares throughout making for some intense moments but i wanted to know more about what's happened & discover who or what is responsible for the contagions outbreak & the final twist is a good one. The game play is solid & really holds the game together, there's so much to explore with different routes & choices that affect gameplay, crafting items, upgrading weapons & most importantly your character are a must as the difficulty level even on the easy/normal settings provide a strong challenge but not to the extent that it becomes too frustrating. The graphics are crisp, clear & look similar to Dishonoured, the soundtrack creates a tense atmosphere while the sound effects of hearing various creatures chanting nearby adds a eerie tone to the game as you feel truly isolated on this space station not knowing who or what is real. It’s a world that makes sense to the scenario which is intelligently designed as you search for any survivors & try to piece together the mysterious strange going's on within Telos 1. The open world environment gives you the freedom of choice to play the game as you like. Prey is a first-person sci-fi action game from Arkane Studios, creators of the award-winning Dishonored series, you play as Morgan Yu - the first human enhanced with alien powers aboard the Talos 1 space station who wakes up with amnesia, with most of the stations crew dead or infected by strange symbiote created creatures who can mimic there surroundings. Main character Morgan Yu feels entirely passive in the storys narrative. A challenging game with a balanced level of difficulty. Guided by a mysterious stranger & his former self, he must set the station's self-destruct before the aliens reach planet Earth. Morgan Yu is trapped abroad a space station filled with shape-shifting aliens with no memory of how he got there. However, there were enough interesting ideas and moments of fun to warrant a play through. The story began to fade and I felt little empathy towards any of the characters which is never great with a story. It made me less inclined to try to complete more of the side quests which is unusual for me. It was fairly tough due to the limited resources but I found towards the end it became overloaded with enemy creatures which at times took away from the suspense. I found the gameplay frustrating, it had some clever mechanics but at times I just did not get on with it. The framerate issues were still alive and well when I played, but it was not debilitating, just annoying. Graphically it is fairly good, I played on the PS4 Pro so got some (limited) graphical improvements. It feels a lot like Dishonored artistically and in terms of tone, which is unsurprising given that it is made by Arkane. The start is promising and sucked me in, I enjoyed the story greatly at the beginning. It has little in common with the original title that this was going to be linked to but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
